SQL Connection Pool Exhausted

We are running into a situation where all of the SQL connections in the pool (100 of them) are in use after about 60 minutes of activity. This is bringing the site down because DNN cannot find any available connections. From the SQL Server 2000 side, I see a lot of sleeping connections that show 'dbo.CAT_GetSingleProducts;1' as the last request on each of the connections. We are running DNN 4.3.5 and CataLook 5.0.3. Has anyone encountered this issue? Thanks.

I have not seen this before. I have just performed some stress tests and I can see max. 3 open / sleeping connections. Please send me a screen shot of the connection monitor. Did you made any code changes or are there several active scheduler item import tasks? Which CATALooK modules are used and on how many portals are the modules installed? You can also send you site URL, DNN host login and you server login to support@dnnsoft.com, if you want that we check what causes this problem.

The connection monitor shows 5 connections, which is our configured minimum. One of our staff was attaching additional images to products when we noticed the jump in connections. The number of connections dropped off after about 15-20 minutes when the image attaching activity stopped. As far as we could tell, there was very little other activity on the site while these product edits was in progress. This site is a single portal with no other portals defined. We have all of the modules installed on the site but the module that is getting used heavily while we configure the store is CAT_Products. I should also mention that the store is effectively unavailable to the public. We configured most of the store modules to be viewable by specific roles. I'll work on getting a screen shot of the perfmon while the site in distress.
