Detail Page/ItemPane.ascx layout tags
How do I customize the ItemPane.ascx file to include additional ISBN tags elsewhere in the page? For example, I want to create a link in the page that will take the user to another website to actually purchase the product but to do this I have to embed the ISBN in the URL.

Couldn't you just include the link to the other website to purchase in the DescriptionHTML for the product? Or am I missing the point entirely - if so could you explain in a bit more detail what you want to achieve.

Re: Detail Page/ItemPane.ascx layout tags
You could include the link in the description, but then that would have to be entered in for every product. We want to put it in the template so that it is on all products and looks and acts consistently. Also, if we want the layout, look, or placement of the link to change we only need to change it in one place.

I was hoping there was a tagging system so I could do something like [CATProductNumber] (our CATProductNumber is the products ISBN). The information that I need can be gotten through a jquery call such as the following, but I would rather not use javascript for it...

<script language="javascript">document.write($('.CATProductNumber').html());</script>

An example of the type of link I am wanting to create would be...

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1601252293/">LINK TEXT</a>

So what I would like to be able to do is something like this...

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/[CATProductNumber]/">LINK TEXT</a>

But what I am having to do at the moment is this...

<script language="javascript">document.write("<a href='http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/" + $('.CATProductNumber').html() + "/'>");</script>

Re: Detail Page/ItemPane.ascx layout tags
This seems like such a simple question. Does the Detail Page/ItemPane.ascx support layout tags and if so where can I find a list of supported tags?

Sorry I didn't get back sooner once I saw what you were after -  I've been digging around but haven't come up with a definite answer. Have you emailed direct to support@dnnsoft.com  - the response is usually much better than posting in the forums. I'd be interested in seeing the answer posted even if it's "no you can't do this" when you do get a response.

Re: Detail Page/ItemPane.ascx layout tags
Thanks GRL570810, I have not tried emailing support as I assumed this would be their preferred method since it is public and a response here helps all of their customers. I will fire off an email now and let everyone know what their response is. I have a feeling that I will need to write a module to allow me to do a custom layout.
