Upgrade from trial
I was under the impression that I could just apply the license key to remove the trial restrictions but apparently this isn't the case.  I was sent this set of instructions:

If you have already installed a trial version, please perform the steps below to update to the full version.

Update Instructions

Please perform the following steps to update to a newer version:

1.       Backup all data before you start updating: Database, site content, DNN folders.

2.       To prevent errors during the product data import of your old import files if there are some new fields in the import function you can exclude these fields like that: module CAT_StoreSettings -> click the ‘Edit Item Import Query’ link -> click the ‘Update’ link. This will save all current import fields and exclude the new fields from the update.

3.       Backup the changed English language package. The English package will be updated automatically. All other language packages must be uploaded manually from folder: \LanguagePackages. If you have changed the English en-US (default) CATALooK.netStore language package you must backup this package before you start the update and restore it after the update: Module CAT_LangSwitcher -> Select 'Create/Migrate Language Packages' from the module menu -> Select 'English' from the 'Resource Locale' selector -> Click on the 'Create' link. After the update you must restore this package via Host -> Languages -> 'Upload Language Pack'. The file is located in the portal default folder: Portals\_default\ResourcePack.default.zip.

4.       Backup the changed standard skin package. All data in the standard skin folder \skins\blue will be replaced. If you have changed the CATALooK.netStore blue skin package you must export it via module CAT_StoreSettings before you start the update and reinstall it under consideration of the ‘History report of skin files changes’ after the update.

5.       Backup changed standard Email Template Package: module: CAT_StoreSettings -> Email Template Package -> Export Package. All data in the standard Email Template folder: DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\EmailTemplatePackages\standard will be replaced by the default files.

6.       Backup changed providers.

7.       Re-install the skin objects from folder DNN_SkinPackages via Host -> Module Definitions -> Install New Module.

8.       Re-install all modules via DNN installer (Host -> Module Definitions -> Install New Module) or ftp the pa-module files to /Install/Module folder and then give a command at the /Install/Install.aspx?mode=InstallResources or Host -> Module Definitions -> Available Modules -> Select Modules -> Install Selected Modules. Check if all modules have the new version: (Host -> Module Definitions -> CATALooKStore etc. -> Version).

9.       Click reload or [F5] on your browser window to activate changes in the css file.

10.   If you have installed other language than English and you have not changed anything on the translations, reload all language packages from folder LanguagePackages\ via Host -> Languages -> 'Upload Language Pack'.

11.   Reload the CATALooK.netStore skins from folder CATALooKSkinPackages\ via module CAT_StoreSettings - > 'Upload New Skin'.

12.   Reload the DNN skin package. Follow the instruction in file: Install.txt in folder: DNN3SkinPackages\ (DNN3) or DNN_SkinPackages\ (DNN4 + 5).

13.   Reload the DNN container package. Follow the instruction in file: Install.txt in folder: DNN3Containers\ (DNN3) or DNN_Containers\ (DNN4 + 5).

14.   Restore providers from backup.

15.   If you use one of the original CATALooK.netStore skins from the CATALooK.netStore package and you have not applied any changes, please re-install the skin.
If you have customized any of the original skins or you use any 3rd party skin, please check if the folders below exist. If not, please add the missing folders from the automatically updated 'blue' skin or one of the original CATALooK.netStore skins from folder: \CATALooK_SkinPackages.
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\lytebox
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Calendar
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Grid
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Input
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Menu
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Combobox
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Window
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\RadControls\Spell
\DesktopModules\CATALooKStore\Skins\Your Skin\Templates
If you don't have an ftp account, please perform the following steps to update your skin:
Module CAT_StoreSettings (CATALooK.netStore -> Store Settings) -> Skin -> Export Package
Extract the ZIP file and add the missing folders
Select all files and folders -> right click on any file -> select: WinZip -> select: Add to 'Your Skin Name'.zip or copy the MK_CATSkin.bat file from folder: \CATALooK_SkinPackages into the skin folder, right click on the file -> select 'Edit' -> change 'MySkin.ZIP' to the name of your skin -> save -> execute (double click on the file).
Upload the updated skin ZIP file via module CAT_StoreSettings -> Upload New Skin

16.   All uploaded languages/cultures must be added to DNN via Host -> Languages before they can be used and selected from the language switcher

I started with step 7 as there isn't much data yet.  I was confronted with this error:
...
...
Info File thumbnail_design1_full.jpg read successfully
Info Loading thumbnail_design2_fixed.jpg
Info File thumbnail_design2_fixed.jpg read successfully
Failure Did not find any .dnn file ???
Failure ExceptionSystem.Exception: File load failed, aborting at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.ReadZipStream() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

I just want to install the pro version without the Demo tags and start working, not sure why this is a complicated step.

Re: Upgrade from trial
looks like the zip you tried to install didn't include the package file within it. which zip are you using? And for the record, I install catalook for customers all the time under the trial license till I am done developing it and just add the key when they buy. I don't ever reinstall it. Although, I wasn't aware of a special 'demo' version so I could be way off here.

Re: Upgrade from trial
Not sure which version I initially installed but reinstalling and applying the key fixed my issue.  Now if I could get the site configured the way I want.  Not easy when the manual is poorly written and there isn't much online support.  I'll keep trying...

Re: Upgrade from trial
Good to hear!! If you need any detailed assistanced, I do it for a living. I totally know your pain. After finishing my 100th cart for a customer this weekend, I pretty well have a full manual in my head...a lot of good that does you though. Anyway, Susanne is normally very receptive to the problems you come into and will explain in detail if you have a specific issue. So, again, if you are just starting out and need a bit of a nudge, just drop me a line and I will do my best to assist you.

Re: Upgrade from trial
Well, to be honest, I am having some minor issues that I am sure are pretty easy to fix.

1. I enable credit cards, proceed to check out.  Everything looks good so far. The first page is Order Details.  No issues.  Click Final Checkout and goto Address, looks good.  Next page, address/Product total looks good.  Then I am confronted with Pay/Submit order.  I press the credit card image button.  That's when I have the issue.  I see a page which I need to edit but I am not sure how to go about it.  The query string is:
?tabid=59&CC=1&cartpageno=7&returntosec=no

There is 3 sections that basically want the user to enter the same data.  I would like to edit these fields just as I did the Address page.  I am logged in as admin but I do not see the required/hidden check boxes.  I would like this page to just have the credit card info and that's it.  Any idea?

Re: Upgrade from trial
Hello,
Your screen shot didn't come through so I am going to do my best to iterate. On the cc page, depending on the provider you have chosen to furnish the transaction, the user may have to enter there cc information on that page. This should be the only place they would have to potentially re-enter their information, which, should only be first/last name the cc and CVN numbers and an expiration date. Some providers want the whole address again incase the user has entered a shipping address that is different in the main entry (cart 2nd page). You can control some aspects of the cc page in the cart-->view options screen, but those are mostly for the cvn and card type selectors. If you would like I can login and review your setup, just let me know.
