Re: Skinning with CSS

Did you get this done?  I'm just finishing my second catalook store skinning exercise and this one has a dark background.  Wow!  What a headache.  I don't think I have any invisible text left but no promises.  Yet again, I haven't been able to totally lose the tables but I reckon the web standards police have bigger fish to fry.

Andy.

Andy,

No, I'm still too daunted by try to skin catalook css style from scratch. Any chance of sending your latest so I can NOT start from a blank piece of paper.

Re: Skinning with CSS
I've found that using Firebug with Firefox is the best way to work out what's impacting on what in the CSS.  IE doesn't have anything as good (IEWatch is alright but can't compete and I guess the developer toolbar is better than nothing).  Maybe I'll get a simple template up so we can all get a head start.  Maybe.

Re: Skinning with CSS

Based on your post I just installed Firebug. It is fantastic. I have always wanted a tool like that!

Good to hear.  Using Firefox also means that your skin has a better chance of being cross-browser compatible.  Still intend to do a stripped back template that I'll make available.  Got a new project coming up so I'll do it as part of that.  Might be the kick up the arse to do my own website
