I've setup some coupons for my client using the documentation as follows:
test=10test2=20
This works great for a fixed amount off the order coupon...but does anyone know how to create a percentage of order total coupon code?
Thank you for your reply. I don't mean to seem rude, but the manual is not very helpful at all on this request. I've read the section you've decribed and it has not helped me at all. (I would not have posted here if the manual had explained this enough for me to accomplish it on my own).
Can you (or anyone) give me an example of using a coupon code in price rules (or basket) to generate a percentage discount on an entire order total.
So let me make sure I understand this. There is no way to apply a percentage off the entire order using a coupon code? It's either a fixed amount on a cart coupon, or a percentage off a product (using a price rules coupon)?
Sorry for my frustration, but this is the last open issue on what has become a huge effort to launch my clients replacement site on Catalook. They have a number of existing promotions already published (direct mail, online banners, etc) offering an order discount (10% your order for example) this is a show stopping issue.
We chose Catalook based on the descriptions on your site which led my client and I to believe what we felt was a basic feature (coupon based cart discounts) along with the many other terrific features built into your product.
From your description on snowcovered and this site:
"Percentage and absolute discounts and prices depending on categories, role membership, user, date, coupons"
and
"Pricing: Multiple payment types and prices (6 price groups, discount) for every customer, bulk prices/quantity discounts depending on order quantity, fixed amounts or percentage amounts for unlimited item quantity ranges, temporary special prices for each item, prices tax incl. and excl. tax, wholesale pricing, percentage and fixed discounts and prices depending on categories, role membership, user, date, coupons"
Needless to say, this is a huge disappointment and might jeoprdize my entire roject at this point. This functionality is a pretty standard feature on almost every cart I've used. It was on their old site (OSCommerce) and it's on ASPDotNetStorefront and Commerce Server and many more as well.
So, is there any way to accomplish an "order" level or "cart" level discount?
Any workarounds come to mind?
Also, is this something you can add to the core product in the very near future?
Any ideas?
I own the source version and would be happy to modify this if you point my in the right direction.
