Multiple vendor query

I really like the look of this system and script, however I am missing one feature and wondered if it would be possible ??

Allow sellers to sell from a central product database (controlled by the admin), thus allowing vendors to set there own price and condition, whilst also offering the customers different prices (i.e the best first).

Much in the way Amazon marketplace works ??

This appears to be the ONLY reason not to buy the script at the minute, everything else on my checklist appears to have been ticked

Re: Multiple vendor query
You can use the clone function to create multiple instances of the same product, assign a different vendor to each and the vendor can manage his own items e.g. change the price, delivery, comments. You can also enable the seller details display: e.g. seller name, rating, other items and 'ask a question' function.

Re: Multiple vendor query

Not entirely how I would want it to work to be honest, as I have 100,000 products in my database, if users started duplicating them it would just get too big to manage.

Would it be at all possible to custom code, if so how much ?

The work I see that is required, is new price fields and notes for each product that is linked to both the vendor and the product and within the product view a list of sellers items. I've found a few sites that do this, but none that have a script that is available to purchase

But in this case, the vendor can not manage the product. All changes must be done by admins. You could use options for that: e.g. Title='Select Vendor', selections='Vendor1 $20=20 Vendor2 $30=30 etc. .

Re: Multiple vendor query

That just wouldn't be practical. What is needed is another table with a seller id, product id and seller price. That way each product can have several unique prices and the customer picks the best price or seller with the best reputation.

This would be a great addition to what appears to be an already great script. during the last year while I've been looking for a solution to this problem, I've found quite a few others that all want a similiar solution. So if anyone is willing to code these changes, I'm sure there is a market for it.
